💥 Zero Bullshit
Epilogue

Conclusion

Was anything illegal done in all these stories? I am not a judge, and my investigation has its limits. But as troubling coincidences, surgical timing and tangled interests between political decisions and personal gain keep piling up, doubt creeps in and questions arise.

A president shouldn’t say (do?) that, as they would put it in France, after the title of a 2016 book of interviews with President François Hollande. At a time when trust in institutions, finance and politics is already particularly fragile, these tweets dangerously fuel a climate of widespread suspicion. Even if this behaviour remains technically legal today, its casualness and recklessness feed a deep sense of unease and distrust.

We don’t yet know whether red lines have been crossed. But what we do know is that this kind of practice sows confusion and further weakens the already shaken credibility of those who govern us.

At a time when democracies are ever more fragile, nobody should leave room for doubt.
